I just read this article about a couple of Hawaiian barbecue restaurants that seems silly to have made it to the Supreme Court. In the news a company was able to copyright the word “ono” and when another barbecue restaurant used the word as a name “One Means Delicious” (and in Hawaiian “ono” does mean delicious!) they were sued and ended up selling the company!

They were sued for naming their barbecue restaurant Ono Means Delicious because another food company had “ono” copyright protected. I cannot imagine not being able to use the word delicious to describe barbecuing (because it is!)
